Victor C. Watkins Sr.

Victor C. Watkins Sr., age 75 of Sanford, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at MyMichigan Health in Midland. He was born January 31, 1948 in Midland, Michigan to the late John M. and Emma N. (Pickens) Watkins. Victor served honorably for 2 years in the United States Army and worked 29 years as an Industrial Pipe Insulator for Dow Chemical. He was a man of faith who enjoyed reading his bible and was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, yard work, and watching western movies.

Surviving is his wife, Darlene Watkins; son, Victor Watkins; step sons, Chris Derus, Jason Derus, Kerry Hatlak; daughter, Kristin (Jeff) Marsh; step daughters, Andrea Derus, Kendra Derus; grandchildren, Tiffany Watkins, Charlie Watkins, Dylan Derus, Sarayah Derus, Bree Taylor, Jasmine Taylor, Afton Cooper, Donovan Calhoun, Octavia Calhoun, Kiara Derus, Ethan Marsh, Jocelyn Marsh; siblings, John Watkins, Shamrock Watkins, Ed (Rena) Watkins, Helen (Cliff) Braley; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Victor was preceded in death by his siblings, Jessie Watkins and Elizabeth Watkins.

Funeral services for Victor will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Pastor Gary Eastman will officiate with the committal service to follow in Lee Twp Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
