Dennis “Denny” Grenesko, 76, of Midland, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 6:08 a.m., surrounded by his loving family. He lived a life defined by quiet strength, genuine warmth, and a deep pride in those he loved.

A proud veteran, Denny served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Was from 1969– 1975 receiving several medals. It was a chapter of his life he carried forward with great honor throughout his life. His service instilled in him a sense of dedication and commitment that he continued to celebrate throughout his years, celebrating every service men and women. He was extremely proud when his grandson Talon and Lillian Denman joined the Army Reserve, he was very proud of their service and continued service.

Denny built a distinguished career as an Electrical Engineer, dedicating the early 1990’s till his retirement in 2018 at Hemlock Semiconductor.

In the years that followed, Denny was a beloved fixture in the Midland area community and was greeted at his favorite breakfast spots by name. He was an active member of the Sanford Eagles Club, where he was known not only for his competitive spirit at the pool shooting championships he so enjoyed, but also for his remarkable eye behind a camera. Denny had a rare gift for capturing the moments that made gatherings special. Serving as the unofficial photographer for numerous events, he would pour that same care and attention into handcrafted photo books, which he gifted to clubs as lasting keepsakes of their shared memories.

Denny is survived by his children, Alecia Darling (Joe Darling), son, Shawn Grenesko; his six grandchildren, Elizabeth Grenesko, Grant Grenesko, Erica Grenesko, Ben Grenesko, Talon Denman, Lillian Denman and; Two brothers, Kevin and Jerry; his sisters, Beverly and Joy. He also held a very special place in his heart for Jen and Cory Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his father, mentor, and guiding light through life, Stanley Grenesko; his mother, Lois Grenesko; and brother, Robert Grenesko.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Denny will remember him for his kindness, his eye for beauty in the everyday, and his generous spirit. He gave freely of his time and talents, which were many.

Drawing in his engineering experience, he often created elaborate schemes to challenge, entertain and show his grandchildren love. Some of Denny’s adventurous activities included individual vacations for grandkids that included studying for and passing a test before they could go on vacation, creating a shed space for an elaborate sleepover that included a mud hill, glow in the dark hula hoop contest and obstacle course that had to be completed including walking the plank over a muddy kiddy pool full of worms. These were core memories and just one of the many ways his memory will live on in the hands and hearts of those he touched.
