Ty R. Maltby

Ty R. Maltby, age 45 of Merrill, passed away Tuesday March 14, 2023 at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. Ty was born in Midland on November 18, 1977. He was the employed with Walmart for 15 years. Ty enjoyed playing softball, bowling, going boating and fishing, floating down a river, and listening to the Detroit Tigers on the radio. He loved decorating for Christmas with his family and loved how his Christmas displays brought happiness and joy to people. Ty had an infectious smile and laugh and was most proud when being with his family and friends, His girls meant the world to him.

Surviving is his wife, the former Nora J. Sanders of whom he married on June 8, 2013; his daughters, Nellie, Ava, Ariah; his father, Maynard (Alice) Maltby; mother, Robin Rutledge Inman; sister, Brandi (Frank) Hesse and their children, Irelynn, Hans, Sven; brothers, Shane Maltby and his children, Logan and Emerson; Craig (Lisa) McDonald and their children; cousins, Chad Crosby, Craig (Bobbie) Crosby. Ty was preceded in death by his step father, Jeff Inman.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 25, 2023 at Lighthouse Body of Christ Church with Pastor Dan Youmans officiating. Family will receive guests at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
