Obituary
Thomas H. Dickerson, age 62 of Midland, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at his residence. The son of the late Donald L. and Sally A. (Bell) Dickerson was born in Midland on January 8, 1961. He was united in marriage on May 4, 2002 to Karla (Rydman) Dickerson. Tommy had been employed with Lake Painting, and was a bartender over the years for many different lounges in the Midland area where he met so many wonderful people. In his younger days, Tommy participated on sports teams, where his love of the games started and then continued throughout his life as he enjoyed playing baseball, golf and was an exceptional bowler. One of his special joys was to relive all those sports memories with a story or two, as well as, to share his vast knowledge of sports trivia. He enjoyed watching a variety of sporting events on TV and avidly cheered on the Detroit Tigers. For 10 years, from the 80’s to the 90’s Tom was a member of a band where he played rhythm, cut many original songs and delighted in entertaining an audience while appreciating the love of music. His family remembers him as one the funniest, kind hearted, most likable people and a gentle soul. One of his favorite things was to be around family, friends and people in general, where camaraderie and friendship were shared.
As a loving brother, husband, father and grandfather, Tommy leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Karla, daughter Elizabeth (Gabe) Raymer; stepson Joshua Rydman; 2 grandchildren Jenna Rydman and Jacob Rydman and 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Michael Dickerson, Cheryl (Mark) Hitchingham, Mary Gordon, David Dickerson.
Per the wishes of Tommy, cremation has taken place. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial contribution to a family discretionary fund ℅ Elizabeth Dickerson Raymer, 6181 W. Freeland Road, Freeland, MI 48623. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson Miller Funeral Home.
