Rosaria Delores Miller, age 106 of Midland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 12, 2023 at her home with family by her side. She was born on March 9, 1917 in Pearsall, Texas to the late Emmett and Petra (Padilla) Moreno. She married Dean Miller on December 21, 1934 in Shepherd, Michigan and they spent 65 years together before his death. Together they loved to travel and volunteer, particularly at the Chippewa Nature Center and the Bradley House. For many years, they loved spending time at the cottage that they built on Surrey Lake
Rosaria had a natural talent for sewing, quilting, and really anything that allowed her to be creative. She taught herself most of these skills along with cross stich, caning, crocheting and tatting. Her home was decorated with her works and many were gifted out to her friends and family. Most of all, Rosaria will be remembered for the love she had for her family.
Surviving are her children, Juanita (James) Vanitvelt of Burton, Linda Gagne of Midland; grandchildren, Julie (Scott) Vanitvelt, Amy (Ricky) Erickson, and Angela (Rocky) Evans; 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Rosaria was preceded in death by her sister and five brothers.
There are many people the family would like to thank for the wonderful care they provided for Rosaria: Dawn and Terry Shaffer, Tara Dunbar, Sandy Wagoner, Rev. Matthew Schramm, and A and D Hospice.
Funeral services for Rosaria will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Midland. Rev. Matthew Schramm will officiate with private burial to be in Midland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church only on Thursday from 11 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be offered to Memorial Presbyterian Church.
