Robert Rocha

Robert Rocha, age 74 of Coleman, died Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Ascension St. Johns Hospital in Detroit. He was born in Buel Twp, MI on May 29, 1948 to the late Margarito and Genevieve (Rocha) Velez. Robert honorably served our country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married the former Mary Fleming on March 22, 1978 in Garden City, MI and they shared almost 45 years together. Robert enjoyed music (he played guitar for years), watching the Detroit Tigers, and watching western movies along with Law and Order. He liked to stay active and could often be found walking around town or riding his bike on the rail trail.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Rocha; children, Jennifer (Jacob) Robison, Bryan (Heidi) Rocha, Robert Michael Rocha; grandchildren, Shaelynne (Justin), Mitchell, Hunter, Rheannon, Celeste, and Paris; great grandchildren, Greyson and Carter; siblings, Guadalupe Ortiz, Rubin Velez, and Erlinda Velez. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his siblings, David Rocha, Mary Rosario, Lorenzo Rocha, Margaret Nieves, and Joseph Velez.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral in Warren Twp Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm and on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be offered to the wishes of the family.
