Obituary

John Raymond Schehl, age 72 of Midland, passed away on Sunday, December 27th, 2020.

John Schehl was born in Detroit, Michigan, on September 22nd, 1948. He served in the Army as a mechanic. He then went on to Northwood University to play football and graduated with a degree in Restaurant Management. 

On July 10th, 1976, John married the love of his life Susan Schehl, they were married for 43 years. John and Susan had two children, who he cherished and loved with all his heart, Hannah Baker Schehl and John Thomas Schehl. He loved his many poodles and his pitbull.

John worked at Re/Max of Midland for many years as a Realtor. He enjoyed Hannah's dance performances and he was the ultimate hockey, golf, and wrestling Dad for Johnny.  John enjoyed his retirement as a Ranger at Sandy Ridge Golf Course. He always spent as much time as he possibly could with his grandchildren. John loved his family and friends, always making sure everyone was having fun and enjoying themselves. 

John is survived by his children, Hannah and John Schehl; grandchildren, Ryan Wharton Jr. and Izabella Schehl; niece, Kimmy (Schehl) Kane and Family; brothers-in-law, William B. Church and family, John B. Church and family; sisters-in-law, Sarah A. Church and family, Margaret R. Church, Barb Church and family, Mary E. Church and family. 

John was preceded in death by his wife Susan, and their daughter Hannah Louanna Schehl; parents, Agnes and Julius Schehl; brother, Robert Schehl; wife's parents, John A. and Hannah B. Church, and his brothers-in-law, Thomas and James Church.

There will be a private service for the family. There will also be a memorial for John, in the spring of 2021, at Sandy Ridge Golf Course. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
