Jewell Joan Allswede

Jewell Joan Allswede, age 91 of Grand Blanc and formerly of Sanford, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Abbey Park Senior Housing. She was born in Bay City on December 4, 1931 to the late Gus and Leona (Baumbach) Hipke.

Jewell loved to travel and visited many places throughout the United States. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and often could be found going for a morning walk. Jewell will be most remembered for her kind spirit and the love she had for her family.

Surviving is her husband of 73 years, Jerry Allswede; daughter, Lynn Kimmel; grandchildren, Mark and Phil Kimmel; and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jewell will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11:30 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the Sanford Historical Society or a charity of one’s choice.
