Glenn M. Gillespie

Glenn M. Gillespie, age 82 of Midland, passed away on Wednesday July 12, 2023 at his residence. The son of the late Marion and Viola (Horning) Gillespie was born in Midland on July 13, 1940 where he was raised and educated. Glenn worked for The Dow Chemical Company for many years and after retiring he then went to work for County Connection as a bus driver. He was a member of Homer United Methodist Church, Sanford Moose and the Sanford American Legion. Glenn enjoyed going to dances with his wife, classic cars, listening to oldies music, hunting, fishing and traveling with his daughter. But most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends. On May 27, 1961, Glenn married the former Carol L. Ropp and after 61 years of marriage, she died on December 25, 2022.

Surviving is his daughter, Colleen Gillespie; grandchildren, Tonya Gillespie, Eric Weinert and Dylan Weinert; great grandchildren, Keegan, Julianna, Bentley; sister, Janice Kubczk. In addition to his parents and wife, Glenn was preceded in death by his son, Steven; sisters, Virginia Clarey and Carolyn Smith.

Per the wishes of Glenn, cremation has taken place. A celebration dinner will be held at the Sanford American Legion on August 12, 2023 from 4 until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be directed to the wishes of the family.
