Obituary

Ernest N. Grove, age 87, of Midland, passed away Thursday April 6, 2023 at Stratford Pines. The son of the late Perry A. and Flossie M. (Young) Grove was born in St. Louis, Michigan on June 19, 1935. Ernie was the Body Shop Manager at Dirk Waltz for over 39 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, watching fast pitch softball at Emerson Park, working in his flower beds, and taking care of his dogs. 

Surviving is his wife of 59 years, the former Ula Wilson, whom he married on June 1, 1963; son, Perry (Susan) Grove; daughters, Dianna Grove, Maxine (John) Guettler; grandchildren, Joseph & David Holden, Jacob (Jacob Sargent) Guettler, Katie Guettler, Evan Grove, Julien Grove. In addition to his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by sisters Ruth Blue, Agnes Palmer, Olive Pratt, Mabel McFee; brothers Joseph, Kenneth, and Don Grove.

Per Ernie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration gathering will be held on Friday April 14th from 3 until 7:00 p.m. at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the organization of one’s choice.
