Eileen Behr of Midland passed away peacefully on January 22, 2023 at the age of 94. She was born in Pigeon, Michigan to Adolph Schulze and Mollie (Stein) Schulze and grew up on the family farm nearby. She attended a one-room school as a girl and graduated from Pigeon High School in 1946.
Eileen was an accomplished amateur gardener and a cookie baker of considerable renown among her acquaintances. She enjoyed knitting and over the years and made hundreds of afghans, hats, mufflers, and other items that she gave to friends and family and donated to local charities. Eileen was an avid reader and a particular fan of Danielle Steele and Debbie Macomber. She was an active member a bridge club for over 50 years. Eileen loved spending time with her family.
Eileen worked as a travel agent for many years and visited many places in the United States and throughout the world, including Alaska, Soviet Russia, mainland China, Japan, and throughout Europe. Of all foreign lands she liked Spain the best.
She was predeceased by her eldest child, Jeffrey Douglas Behr. She is survived by her children, Mark Edward, James, and Kathleen DeVet; grandchildren, Joshua Behr, Eden Behr, Daniel Dumbra, Savanah Crist and Felicia Strejc; and great-grandchildren, Everly Strejc and Stevie Gonzalez-Behr.
No memorial service is planned. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
