Barbara A. (Dill) Rutherford

Barbara Dill Rutherford, age 88 of Sanford, died Friday evening, November 4, 2022 at MediLodge of Clare. The daughter of the late Emerson T. and Esther M. (Ohngren) Dill was born on February 4, 1934 in Waterford, MI. She graduated from Waterford Township High School in 1952. Barb attended Central Michigan University, and graduated from Finlandia University in 1956. She married Gary Rutherford, from Cheboygan, MI., in 1956. Barb retired from Chrysler Corp as a Computer Software Analyst in 1989. She started Rutherford Consulting and was employed by Fiat Chrysler for two more years. She retired for a second time when Gary retired in 1991.

She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, had copyrighted twenty four musical compositions, and eight songs. Her hobbies were boating, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and traveling.

Barb is survived by her husband, Gary; sister, Katherine (Lee) Leasher; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Leasher and Barbara (Patrick) McIntyre; grand nieces and nephews, Ryan and Katherine McIntyre, Erika and Isaac Leasher.

Funeral Liturgy for Barb will be celebrate at 11:00 a.m. Thursday November 10, 2022 from Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Sanford, MI. with Fr. Dan Fox, OFM Cap as celebrant. Friends may pay their respects from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Our Lady of Grace Parish or City Rescue Mission.
