William Henry Mowery, age 78 of Midland, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at Colonial Villa. The son of the late John and Goldie (Erfourth) Mowery was born on May 14, 1943 in Bay City where he was raised and graduated from T.L. Handy High School. William served his country honorably with the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He then went on to work at the Midland Daily News for 2 years followed by 30 years at Pendell/Quebecor Printing where he worked until his retirement.
He and Carlla shared a home on Sanford Lake for 30 years. Being close to the water was something William enjoyed and cherished. Most of all, he will be remembered for the love he had for his family. He was a family man with a delightful sense of humor.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Carlla Mowery; children, Jeffrey Mowery and Shelley Potts; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Vala) Haskins, Alex Haskins, and Krista (Ian) Parks; great grandchildren, Landen and Levi Haskins, Viola and Henry Parks.
Private services for William will be held at a later date with interment to be in Homer Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be offered to Dementia Society of America, Senior Services, The Humane Society or American Cancer Society.
