William "Bill" Joseph Morin, age 79 of Midland, passed away Wednesday August 4, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. The son of the late Alfred and Phyllis (Morand) Morin was born in Bay City on May 28, 1942. He attended St. Joseph High School graduating in 1960 and then attended Bay City Junior College. Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966 as a technician. He was employed with the former Michigan Bell (Ma Bell) now A.T.&T. until his retirement. Bill attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Sanford.
Bill married the former Judith (Judy) DeGroot on August 14, 1982. They lived in Washington, California and returned to his beloved state of Michigan upon his retirement. He enjoyed camping, electronics, computers, model trains and HAM radios. Bill would travel frequently to visit family and friends all over the country, especially when someone needed his assistance. He had a 1972 Jeep Wagoner and will be fondly remembered for the priceless memories and road trips with his family. Bill will be known for his quick-witted sense of humor and always knew when a big thought was coming when his index finger came to rest on his bottom lip. He loved when his children, grandchildren would come to visit and challenging everyone to play Dr. Mario.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Judy; children, Michael Morin of Midland, Heidi Archuletta of Alcoa, Tennessee, Marie (Rick) Gilstrap of Lynnwood, Washington, Stephen (JoAnna) Morin of Pinconning, Michigan, Kirsten (James) Pail of Midland; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Jack Morin, Joann Hintz, Rosemary Todd.
Funeral services for Bill will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 7, 2021 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Deacon Aloysius J. Oliver of St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church officiating. Family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday from 6 until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
