William B. Havens, age 89 of Sanford, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 with his loving family by his side. The son of the late Boyd and Ada (Granston) Havens was born October 22, 1928 in Hope, MI. William faithfully served his country with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He then worked for Dow Corning in refrigeration until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and living on the lake. William most of all adored his loving wife of 65 years, the former Lucy M. Dillow of whom he married November 27, 1952 in Hope, MI. They had a special bond that was very strong and he will be sorely missed.
In addition to his wife, William is survived by his daughters, Irene (Sid) Korvun of New Port Richey, FL., Billie Piper of Conroe, TX., and Cheryl (Bill) Huner of Mt. Pleasant, MI; grandchildren, Roger Lee (Tasha) Poullion and family, Jennifer (Tom) Moe and family, Jason (Katie) Poullion and family, Jeremy (Brooke) Havens and family, Chad (Kristen) Piper and family, Wyatt Huner, Kris Korvun, and Joe Korvun; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his son, Dan Havens; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services for William will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, June 29, 2018 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Committal services will follow in Midland Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by the Midland Area Veterans and The United States Navy. Family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 - 8 pm and again on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
