William "Bill" Doughty, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on September 3, 2017. He was born on June 7, 1937 in Midland, Michigan to the parents, William and Gladys Doughty. He was 80 years of age.
Along the path of Bill's young adulthood, he met a woman named Constance, and they fell head over heels. They married in Sanford, Michigan on August 14, 1957 and shared 60 beautiful years together. Bill worked for Dow Chemical Company as a Journeyman electrician for thirty four years before he retired.
Bill was an avid garage sale shopper, loved to use his metal detector to find buried treasures, and gold mining. He also enjoyed selling merchandise on Ebay, traveling, loved to help other, taught his five grandchildren to drive, loved making homemade applesauce from apples, enjoyed gardening, but most of all, he loved his family. He was also a member of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Bill and Constance had been "Snowbirds" since 1990 but became permanent Lake Havasu City residence two years ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gladys Doughty and son, Steven Doughty.
Bill is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 60 years, Constance, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; son, Douglas Doughty, of Michigan; daughter, Kathy Howell, of Michigan; and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Bill's life will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017 from Holy Scripture Lutheran Church, 4525 Main St. Midland, Michigan 48640, with Rev. Paul Schneider Officiating. Donations can be made to the Hemophilia Foundation of Michigan. Local arrangements are under the care of the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
