William N. "Bill" Post

William N. "Bill" Post a very kind and gentle man passed away at his home in Sanford on Thursday April 7, 2011. The last surviving child of the late John and Agnes (Jaster) Post was born at home in Midland on July 27, 1928. He married the love of his life Mildred Arlene Poland on August 2, 1946 at First Baptist Church in Midland at 6:00 p.m. Bill had been employed with The Dow Chemical Co. until retiring in 1982 after 34 years of service. The family shares many great memories of the house on Wixom Lake. This was one of four houses that Bill had built. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and tinkering around. Above all he loved times spent with family. His greatest joy was helping the kids & grandkids. Bill and Millie wintered in Florida where they created many friendships over the years.

Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years Mildred; son, Dave (Judy) Post of Hope; daughter, Sue (Alan) Hoon of Midland; grandchildren, Jeff (Tina) Bacon, Traci (Scott) Erskine, Alison (Dan) Girard, Bridjet Post and fiancé, Barton W. Morris, Jr., Tiffane (Dr. Antonino) Colombo; great grandchildren, Heather, Megan, Samantha, Jeffrey Jr., Grace, Preston, Aubrey and Lauren; sisters and brother in law , Doede Post of Florida, Glenna Inman of North Carolina, Mary Poland of Midland, Joyce (Nate) Poland of Midland; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was welcomed into heaven by his daughter, Cheryl Bacon; siblings, Kate Maxwell, Lois Gordon, Jack Post and H. Jane Post.

Funeral and committal services will take place 1:00 p.m. Monday April 11, 2011 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Chaplin Chris Lauckner of MidMichigan Home Care will officiate. Interment will be in Midland City Cemetery. Family will received friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 8 and on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to Midland Dialysis Center or Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund. The family wishes to thank the care givers, Debra, Jessica, Suzie, Heather, Debi & Teryn for their love & support of Bill and Millie.
