Wilfred (Bill) Leonard Holsather, 83, of Midland, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at his home. He was born July 8, 1935, in Suttons Bay (MI), son of the late Borger and Alma (Everson) Holsather.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children Eric Holsather of Midland, Kristin Holsather of Fair Oaks (CA), and granddaughter Britney Johnson of Roseville (CA). Bill is also survived by his siblings Esther Carew of Grand Rapids (MI) and Roy Holsather of Milford (DE).
Bill served in the Air Force during both the Korean and Vietnam wars, after which he served in the reserves. Bill attended Michigan State University before working for - and retiring from - Pillsbury. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer and reader. He was also a proud member of the American Legion.
Bill was a devoted Father, Grandfather, and Husband. He always had a book in his hands and there was never a guest that entered his home without the welcome of food and conversation. Alongside his family, he was also very devoted to his faith. "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7).
Cremation has taken place and the burial of his ashes will be this summer in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly with full Military Honors. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Legion (www.legion.org). Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Personal messages of condolence maybe offered to the family at www.wilson-miller.com
