Wilford C. Sirrine

Wilford C. Sirrine, age 92 of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Midland, passed away Saturday morning November 11, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family. The son of the late Francis and Hanna (Mitchell) Sirrine was born in Homer Township on May 20, 1925 where he was raised and educated. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Wilford was employed with Dow Corning while residing in Midland and then was self-employed as a builder in Florida until retiring in 1990. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed doing paintings and carving. Wil was a devoted Christian and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Florida.

Surviving is his wife of 70 years the former Nellie Plantz of whom he married in Midland on April 19, 1947; daughters, Candice (Rev. Paul) Weber of Marquette, Michigan, Cynthia (Stephen) Shead of Orange City, Florida; grandchildren, Shawn, Susan, Shelley, Sarah, Scott & Nathan; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Rich) Waite; brother, Mervin Sirrine; sister in law, Barb Sirrine. In addition to his parents Wilford was preceded in death by his infant son, Douglas Clare Sirrine brothers, Oakley and Larry Sirrine; sister, Maxine Vaughn.
