Wayne G. Allen

Wayne G. Allen, age 89 of Sanford, passed away January 4, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on the family farm in Clare, Michigan on January 27, 1936 to the late Ralph and Beatrice (Hodges) Allen. Wayne faithfully served his country with the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany for 2 years.

On September 12, 1959, Wayne married the love of his life, Linda (Rogers) Allen. Together, they shared 66 years of marriage, and he enjoyed any time he could spend with the family he nurtured. He was a loving dad to Douglas (Missy) Allen, Deanne (Roger) Fridley, Lisa Allen, and Sherry (Chris) Sasse. The family blossomed to include his grandchildren, Patrick Fridley, Kendra Fridley, Tomas King, Nikki Sasse-Pitt; and great grandchildren, Abilene and Alice Pitt.

Wayne was a lover of the great outdoors and often could be found going camping, hunting or fishing. He enjoyed playing softball, playing and coaching baseball, being a scout leader, and the challenge of a good puzzle. One of his many accomplishments was donating 24 gallons of blood over his lifetime.

Wayne’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Sanford United Methodist Church. A luncheon will follow the service with private burial being in the Jerome Twp Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Wilson Miller Funeral Home and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be offered to the Sanford Senior Center or Sanford United Methodist Church.
