Walter L. Ross Sr., age 69 of Midland, died Friday April 8, 2016 at his residence. The son of the late Arnold and Thelma (Knapp) Ross was born in Midland on December 16, 1946. Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing, visiting, helping others, cooking, inventing new recipes, working on cars, driving, the outdoors, listening to country and gospel music, going to church, and reading his bible.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years the former Carol McIntyre of whom he married on March 22, 1983; son, Walter Ross II of Sanford; daughter, Lee Price of Midland; grandchildren, Jessica (Arno), Erica (Craig), Joseph, Amanda, William, Marvin (Jodie) and many other grandchildren; 12 plus great grandchildren; stepsons, Charles and Terry Cowling; stepdaughter, Patricia Higgins- Gillen; brothers, Arnold (Nancy) Ross, Larry (Mary) Ross, and Jim (Ruby) Ross; sister, Arlene (Roy) Wilkinson. In addition to his parents, Walter was predeceased by his brother Clarence Ross.
Funeral services for Walter will take place 1 p.m. Wednesday April 13, 2016 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Chaplain John Elledge of Grace Hospice officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to the wishes of the family.
