Violet Thorsberg

Violet P. Thorsberg, age 102 of Midland died at her residence on Monday February 3, 2014.
The daughter of the late William R. and Pearl (Dunham) Herrell was born on March 10, 1911 in Midland County where she was raised and educated. On September 25, 1933 she married Martin H. Thorsberg in Midland and he predeceased her on May 25, 1992. In her early years Violet worked for Curly Cure Beauty Shop and was a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting for King's Daughters Shop, music, dancing and for the past 15 years spending time at Happy Diners at Memorial Presbyterian Church. She also did volunteer work for hospice. Violet was a long time member of the Midland First Baptist Church.

Violet is survived by many nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brother William R. Herrell, Duane Herrell and sisters Betty Jewel,Hazel Bradshaw and Eva Matthew.

Funeral service will be conducted a 2:00 PM Thursday February 6, 2014 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Rev. David Brown officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from noon until time of service. Interment will be in Midland Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to the First Baptist Church or to A & D Home Health Care & Hospice.
