Vera M Chapin

Vera M. Chapin, age 92 of Midland died at Brittany Manor on Sunday, May 25, 2014. The daughter of the late Edmund and Eva B. "Alexander" Hoon was born on May 29, 1921 in Midland where she was raised and educated. On March 22, 1941 she married Everett Chapin and he predeceased her on April 2, 2001. Vera was a member of the Midland Missionary Church and enjoyed gardening, especially strawberries, raspberries and flowers and she was an avid handcrafter.
Vera is survived by her son Ronald (Brenda) Chapin of Midland and her daughter Gaila Hazen and friend Edwin Wolfgram of Midland. Vera is also survived by her grandchildren Tony Chapin, Tammy (Jim) Wilson, Tonya Sharp, Shari (Steve) Machelski, Brian (Jamie) Hazen and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Earl (Alma) Hoon, sister Norma (Raymond) Stevens, sister-n-law Tommy Hoon and brother-in-law Norman Herman. Vera was predeceased by brothers Lloyd and Roy and sisters Nina Chapin, Reva Ross, Etta Chapin and Eva Herman
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday May 29, 2014 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Reverend Mark Beers officiating. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. Memorials may be offered to the Midland Missionary Church.
