Veda V. Rowe

Veda V. (Erway) Rowe, age 85 of Midland, died Sunday November 29, 2009 at MidMichigan Stratford Village. The daughter of the late Charles and Edna (Spencer) Erway was born on December 25, 1923 in Edenville, Michigan where she was raised and educated graduating from Edenville High School in 1941. On May 18, 1946 Veda married Charles J. "Pete" Rowe in Midland. He died on January 2, 1985. Veda was an avid Tigers Fan, enjoyed watching golf on TV, bowling and watching her children and grandchildren play in many different sports activities. She was a member of the American Legion Berryhill Post 162 Auxiliary.

Surviving are her sons, Kenneth (Sharron) Rowe of Wilmington, North Carolina, Richard (Rose) Rowe of Portland, Tennessee; daughters, Sandra (Ken) Cuddie of Davenport, Florida, Faye (Barry) Thurston of Midland; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. Veda was preceded in death by brothers, Gale, Ross, Earl, Gerald Erway; sisters, Ester Grachow, Delilah Plummer, Hazel LaFaivre and great grandson, Kody Thurston. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at MidMichigan Stratford Village for their kindness and care shown to Veda the short time she was there.

Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday December 3, 2009 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Rev. James Shanks will officiate. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and on Thursday from 10 am until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to Shriners Hospital for Children.
