Vada M. (Pickens) Harrington, age 80, passed away Friday January 6, 2017 at her son home in Riverdale. The daughter of the late Alden S. and Edna M. (Root) Cornelius was born in Midland on April 22, 1936 where she was raised and educated. Vada enjoyed crocheting, doing quilts, hunting, fishing, and making jewelry. On September 19, 1952 Vada married William A. Pickens. He died on August 12, 2000. Then on April 4, 2009 she married Orva Harrington. He died on December 29, 2012.
Surviving are her sons, William (Kathy) Pickens, Jr, John (Gayla) Pickens; step daughters, Rita "ReRe" (Victor) Sperry, Gloria (Richard) O'Brian; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Don Cornelius; sisters, Leone Humphrey; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, Vada was preceded in death by a grandson, William D. Pickens; brother, Bob Cornlius; sister, Donna Hunckerford, Dorothia Lewis, Maxine Cornelius.
