Timothy Paul Gwisdala, age 67, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. The son of the late William P. And Germaine (Ratajczak) Gwisdala, Jr., was born in Bay City on May 23, 1958. A lifelong resident of Bay County, Tim called Auburn and Bay City home for most of his life.
Tim was a devoted husband to Gwen Gwisdala, and a proud father to Wesley Gwisdala and his wife Tara, and to Shanna Horsfall and her husband Neil. He was "Grandpa" to Phoebe and Bodhi, and "Papa" to NoemiMarie and Massimo—each of whom he loved deeply in his own quiet way.
He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Roth, Paul, Robert, and Tom, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law—each of whom helped shape the strong, faithful, and hard-working man he became.
Tim spent his life doing what he loved: working the land and fixing the machines that moved it. As a big wheel mechanic and farmer, he found purpose in long days in the field and peace in the hum of a tractor engine. For Tim, work wasn't a chore—it was joy, movement, and meaning.
A devout Catholic, Tim lived his faith not just in words, but in the way he treated people. He made strangers laugh, turned every nurse into a friend, and never held back when it came to showing love. His humor was quick, his heart was big, and his presence left a mark.
Tim was not a man of many hobbies. He didn't need them. His life was simple, full, and deeply rooted in family, faith, and farming.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and nurses who treated Tim with such dignity in his final days—many of whom reached out to say how much he had brightened their lives.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Gabriel Parish in Auburn, Michigan, on Thursday, June 26th at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Toni & Trish House, whose care was both sacred and compassionate.
Tim's legacy is one of strength, humor, hard work, and unconditional love. He will be missed beyond measure.
