On June 24, 2025, Svetlana Marie White passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord. She was in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 18, 1996 in Russia, Svetlana was just three years old when adopted by her parents, Catherine and Lawrence White. Svetlana had a remarkable ability to make everyone she met feel special. She truly loved listening to their stories and was sincerely compassionate to all she met.
Living by Lake Huron gave Svetlana joy as she could enjoy the beauty of nature and watch freighters go by. She loved being active, going for walks or swimming. She enjoyed watching hockey, baseball, and football. Her hobbies included studying history, especially World Wars, and collecting baseball cards and Lego's.
Most important to Svetlana was her faith, particularly her devotion to the Sacred Heart and the Rosary. Her favorite time was spent at weekly adoration. She was active in her parish and St. John's Catholic Church in Fenton where she worked in the Sacristy and was on the Decoration Committee. She had entered the Carmelite Monastery, however, had to leave to due to medical reasons. Ultimately, it was her love for God and her desire to do His will that made her such a beautiful person.
Svetlana's memory will be carried on by her mother, Catherine White; father, Lawrence White; sister, Elisabeth Pinkerton; brother in-law, Adam Pinkerton; nephews, Justin and Robert Pinkerton; niece, Anastasia Pinkerton; along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was welcomed to heaven by her grandparents, Vincent White, Valerie Denzin, Paul Denzin, Hildegarde Villeneuve, and Eugene Villeneuve.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, 207 Ashman St. Midland, MI 48640. Fr. Stephen Blaxton will be Celebrant with a luncheon to follow the Mass. Following the luncheon, Svetlana will be taken in procession to New Calvary Catholic Cemetery for the Rite of Committal. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson Miller Funeral Home.
