Stephan "Steve" A. Jones

Stephan Anthony Jones, age 70, passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2021. The son of the late Willard H. and Barbara J. (Williams) Jones was born in Midland Mi. on December 22, 1950. He graduated from Midland High School in 1969.& Steve would become a renowned Safety Director, first locally in Midland, then for large mining projects all over the U.S. The compassion and care Steve had for others made him perfect for those positions.


He was a self-proclaimed Juke Box hero, who loved music, usually loud with a lot of guitar and was a great dancer.Steve was a sailor and an avid boatman on Wixom Lake. Having retired to the cottage his father built on the Lake, he was heartbroken over the recent dam failures that turned the lake back into the river it once was. Keeping him off his beloved boat for the first time in many years.


Steve was known by friends and family to be jolly, warm and friendly and always had a mischievous glint in his eye. He loved his big wimpy burgers and his spiced rum.Steve was a longtime member of Moose Lodge 2519 of Sanford and the Eagles Club 3655 of Beaverton.


Steve had many nicknames, including Jonesy, Perch, Rock, and Uncle Dunkle. All given to him lovingly by his lifelong friends in "The Rat Pack" and his niece and nephews.


Steve is survived by his son, Ryan, daughters, Rachel and Renee, and 3 grandchildren, Brynlee, Emma and Jenner, who called him Poppy.


He also leaves behind his loving sisters, Martha and Andrea and his devoted nephews and niece and grand nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by brothers, William & Christopher Jones; sister, Denise Jones; nephew, Benjamin Messing.


Per the wishes of Steve cremation has taken place and a memorial to honor him will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to your local Humane Society and the Make A Wish Foundation.Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
