Shirley Ann Hodges

December 27, 1946 — January 27, 2026

Midland

On January 27, 2026, Shirley A. Hodges passed away at the age of 79. A truly selfless and dependable person, Shirley’s unconditional love touched the lives of all she met.

Shirley was born on December 27, 1946, to the late Edmond and Bertha (Kruse) Zegelien in Midland where she was raised and educated. She married the love of her life, Thomas Hodges, on December 27, 1963, and their union was blessed with three children, Shari Stanton, Theresa Pickett, and Thomas Hodges, Jr.

She was a loving grandma to her 16 grandkids, 36 great-grandkids, and many other children who considered her grandma. In addition to her parents, Shirley was welcomed home to heaven by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Hodges, Sr., and many siblings.

Shirley’s friends were important to her and many of them would gather every Friday night to play Euchre and catch up on life. In her spare time, she enjoyed putting together puzzles and doing adult coloring books.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Shidler officiating. Family will receive guests at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 am until the service.
