Shirleen M. Garner

Shirleen M. Garner, age 83 of Midland died Monday, November 12, 2012 at Brittany Manner. The daughter of the late Russell and Esther (Keppler) Satterfield was born on March 25, 1929 in Fairmont, West Virginia where she was raised and educated. Shirleen graduated from Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia with a degree in music. On May 24, 1953 she married Warren Garner in Indiana and moved to Midland in 1955. Music was always the center of Shirleen's life and loved traveling for musical adventures. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church where she worked with middle school students in the youth ministry at the church. Shirleen's love of music was passed on to her many students that she taught piano to. She was a member of the Music Society at the Midland Center for the Arts.

Shirleen is survived by her husband, Warren Garner and close friends Dave & Penny Buffenbarger and friends with the ARC of Midland.

Funeral service for Mrs. Garner will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 15, 2012 from the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Pamela Buchholz officiating. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Memorials may be offered to the First United Methodist Church or to the ARC of Midland.
