Sharon Kay (Tisdale) Feaster

Sharon Kay (Tisdale) Feaster, 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Reed City, Michigan, June 13, 2009.

Kay was born on November 21, 1935 in Midland to the late Bud and Helen (Taylor) Tisdale. She attended Bullock Creek and Midland Schools graduating from Midland High in 1953. Kay worked for the Dow Chemical Company for 22 years, spending 17 years with the Analytical Lab as an administrative assistant. She retired in 1990 and move to Mio and later to Reed City to be closer to her grandchildren. Kay enjoyed playing music, especially hymns. She was Music Director/Organist at Holy Family Episcopal Church in Midland as well as St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Mio. At St. Bart's she served as Secretary of the Vestry, taught children's Sunday school and served a three year term on the Standing Committee for the Episcopal Church Diocese of Eastern Michigan. Kay also formed the singing group "The Unrighteous Sisters" where they performed their upbeat Christian music from nursing homes to the Episcopal Church State Convention. Surviving breast cancer twice led Kay to become a volunteer with Midland Cancer Services and Hospice where she was an inspiration to many.

Kay is survived by her husband of 35 years, Gary L. Feaster; daughters, Linda (Mark) Gilson (Eatherton) and Lisa (Jamie) Brady (Eatherton); grandchildren, Kelly and Kyle Brady; sister, Sallie (Mike) Crill; several nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, and many friends.

A celebration of Kay's life will be held at Holy Family Episcopal Church, 4611 Swede Rd., Midland, on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11:00 am with the Reverend Thomas Downs officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 am until the service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to pancan.org which is the website for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or to Hospice of Michigan. Kay was a very special lady with a great sense of humor and musical talent. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Funeral arrangements for Kay are under the direction of the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home where there will be no visitation.
