Sharon P. Hill

Surround by her family, Sharon P. Hill, age 60 of Lupton, faithful servant went home to be with the Lord on Sunday September 27, 2009 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was born November 3, 1948 to the late Virginia (Preville) and Mark DesJardins in Detroit where she was raised, graduating from Rosary High School in 1966. Sharon then graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1969 from Mercy School of Nursing. On August 23, 1969 she married Dan "Mike" Hill and had just celebrated 40 years of marriage.

In 1973 Sharon and her family moved to Midland where she began working at Midland Hospital. She worked in Labor & Delivery for 21 years. In 1994 she began working for Midland OB/GYN as the OB nurse coordinator. Sharon retired in 2007 and enjoyed traveling, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sharon was an active member of New Life Vineyard Church where she helped formed the Women's Ministry, coordinated Nursery Services, a member of the prayer ministry team and a board member. She also was a volunteer at West Branch Regional Hospital in the Emergency Room and with Helping Hands of Hospice.

Surviving are her husband, Dan; children, Heather (Richard) Shanteau, Steve (Stacey) Hill; grandchildren, Andrew, Carter and Evan Welter, Caden Hill all of Midland; close cousin Kathleen Muldon of Pennsylvania. In addition to her parents Sharon was preceded in death by a newborn son, Matthew Hill. Sharon's life was spent serving others and she was a blessing to all that knew her. She will be greatly missed, but she is not of our past but rather part of our future.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 30, 2009 from New Life Vineyard Church. Rev. Don Milton will officiate. Interment will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 on Tuesday from 2 to 8 pm and on Wednesday at the church from 10 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial may be offered to New Life Vineyard Church where a prayer ministry room will be created in memory of Sharon for the prayer team and Women's Ministry activities.
