Setsuko M. Fuller, age 78 of Midland died Friday, July 16, 2010 with loving family members at her side.
The daughter of the late Shinichi and Shitsue Oki was born February 3, 1932 in Kumamoto, Japan where she was raised and educated. Setsuko married Lawrence Fuller in Fukuoka, Japan on December 17, 1954 and he predeceased her February 23, 2008.
Setsuko enjoyed sewing, painting, playing the Koto and various crafts. She loved entertaining and cooking for her family and friends, line dancing and Japanese dancing were a favorite past time. She owned Sets For Hair Beauty Salon and was president of Shirakaba, a Japanese woman's group in Denver, Colorado.
Mrs. Fuller is survived by her son, James R. Fuller of Los Angeles, California; Debra (Dr. Douglas) Mikols of Midland; grandchildren, Carson Fuller, Bailey Marie Grzegorczyk, Adelyn Nicole Mikols; brothers, Kioshi, Shizuo, Isamu; sisters, Yasuko (Sam) Nonaka, Katsuko; sister and brother in law, Ann and Don Lemiesz; nieces and nephews, Mitch Lemiesz, Tonia Tessaro, Stephanie Delo, Bobbie Nonaka and Patricia Nelson; friends, Bud and Nancy; and many other special friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Satoshi.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Peter J. Gaspeny officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass.
Memorials may be offered to Southern Care Hospice or Nottingham Place.
