Two months after her stroke in July, Sarah Madeline (Madge) Maidens opened her eyes briefly and peacefully passed into her new heavenly home September 9, 2009 at Midland's Brittany Manor at the age of 85.
She is predeceased by her husbands, Clarence Beryl Skutt (WWII Navy) and Lloyd Walter Maidens. Loving her dearly are her four sons and their families: Douglas and Dorothy Skutt, Jeffrey Maidens, Randy and Pat Maidens, Al and Kathy Maidens and Brenda and Jim Sohasay.
She dearly loved her 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
She was especially cherished by three of her nieces: Vivian Melton, Bonnie Allen and Irene Martin. Family members all over remember Madge for her family history keeping and her visists.
She is predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Sarah (Green) Church, and was the youngest of 11 brothers and sisters.
Madge was actively involved in the American Legion Auxiliary, the 40 & 8, and the VFW. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church.
Her family sincerely thanks the A-Hall nursing staff including her nephew, Bud Skutt, at Brittany Manor and the Heartland Hospice for their great care during these last two months.
Funeral services for Mrs. Maidens will be conducted at 11:00 am, Friday, September 18, 2009 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Elder Lyle Hanson officiating. Interment will follow in Midland Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
Donations in Madge's memory may be offered to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Midland or Heartland Hospice.
