Sam J. Marchese II, age 63 of Beaverton, died Saturday morning August 29, 2015 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center, Midland. The son of Matilda M. (Zubrowski) Marchese and the late Sam J. Marchese was born on May 27, 1952 in Detroit, MI where he was raised and educated. Sam served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. He was very generous to many Catholic charities including the Franciscan Monks. Sam was a gun enthusiast and loved to fish and go for long car rides around the state. He was very dedicated to his religion, reading scriptures and praying the rosary. Sam dearly loved his family and friends. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Edenville.
Sam is survived by his mother, Matilda Marchese of Harrison, Township; brothers, John G. Marchese of Sanford, Joe A. Marchese of Ormond Beach, FL, Chris D. (Linda K.) Marchese of Chassell, MI; nieces, Cynthia, Holly (Goddaughter), Ann, Amy, Jenny, Alicia, Kristine, Katie; nephews, John, Daniel, Jake, and special friends who Sam loved dearly Matt and Kim Hartman and their children MacKenna and Lou (Godson), Warren and Lori Lambert, and best friend Tom Phillips. In addition to his father he was predeceased by his brother David P. Marchese.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday September 3, 2015 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Sanford. Fr. Dan Fox, OFM, Cap. will officiate. The Rite of committal will be in St. Agnes cemetery with military funeral honors being provided by The U.S. Marine Corp. and Midland Area Veterans. Family will receive friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd Midland on Wednesday from 4 - 8 pm and at the church on Thursday from 10 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to a Franciscan Monastery. Personal messages of condolence may be offered at www.wilson-miller.com
