Sam H. Bailey

Sam H. Bailey, age 64 of Midland, died Monday morning July 7, 2014 at Tendercare of Midland. The son of the late Ernest L. and Evelyn R. (Richardson) Bailey was born in Midland on April 1, 1950. He graduated from Midland High School in 1968. Sam owned and operated Baily Transport Co. for many years and was employed with CDI Truck Driving School. He enjoyed bowling, watching NASCAR, was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan, and watching his boys play soccer when they were younger.

Surviving is his wife of 39 years the former Sharleen B. Vlier whom he married on April 5, 1975 in Midland; sons, Corey (Ana) Bailey of Wichita, Kansas, Adam "AJ" (Sarah) Bailey of Mascoutah, Illinois; grandchildren, Jordon, Clover, Kayden & Gunnar; brother, Michael Bailey of Midland; sister, Mary Ann (John) Boss of Walnut Creek, California; mother in law, Beryl Vlier of Midland; brothers in law, David (Roberta) Vlier, Daniel (Sharon) Vlier all of Midland; sister in law, Shirley (Rodney) Prior of Midland; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Sam was preceded in death by his father in law, Harold Vlier.

Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 10, 2014 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Rev. Josheua E. Blanchard of Homer United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Homer Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
