Sally A. Hahn

December 7, 1934 — November 7, 2018

Sally A. (Robbins) Hahn, age 83 of Midland, passed away Wednesday November 7, 2018 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. The daughter of the late Frank E. and Grace M. (Dunning) Robbins was born in Gladwin on December 7, 1934. She was a longtime member of Poseyville United Methodist Church, the foundation of her faith and opportunities for sharing; she was a choir member and leader in the children's ministry for many years. She found the Hand of God in children, the senior population and in the natural world. She was a loving wife, mother and neighbor who impacted many lives and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Sally graduated from Midland High School in 1953, and worked for the Dow Chemical Company and Midland Hospital before focusing on being a homemaker for her growing family. In 1970 she began a long association with the Chippewa Nature Center as a Specialties Naturalist Guide, sharing her love and knowledge of nature with scout and school groups for decades. In addition, she served as a facilitator for training her fellow interpretive guides. Later she focused on elderly populations as Activity Director at King's Daughters Home and Town and Country Nursing Home, after which she carried out her own unique informational programs for residents of nursing homes and senior centers all over the central Michigan area.

Surviving is her husband of 60 years, James R. Hahn, whom she married on March 15, 1958 at the Gordonville United Methodist Church; their children, Amy L. (James) West, Stephen F. (Laura) Hahn and Ruth L. Franks; grandchildren Tyler Franks, Dustin Franks, James Hahn, Emily Hahn, Katherine Hahn, and Melissa Schwarz; great grandchildren Cairo and Camille; sister/friend, Harriett Robbins; brother James D. (Geri) Robbins; adopted family Bobby and Dawn Ellis and daughters, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her brother Joseph A. Robbins and her sister, Sandra Diener.
