Ruth A. (Clark) Windover-Nash, age 94 of Midland died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, surrounded by her family and is now safe in the hands of Jesus. The daughter of the late Otto and Cecil (Thomas) Clark was born August 23, 1917 in Midland County. She graduated from Beaverton High School. On August 14, 1938 she married Clyde Windover in Gladwin and he predeceased her August 24, 1967. She then married Wayne Nash in 1975 and he predeceased her on October 29, 1981. Ruth and her husband Clyde managed the Midland County Farm for 19 years prior to moving to the old Windover Farm on Homer Rd. in Midland County. She worked for many years for the Rhinehart and Pendell families. Ruth also maintained a private adult foster care in her home until her retirement. She was an avid gardener always maintaining many chickens on her farm and became known to her grandchildren as the Chickey Grandma. Ruth lived by the motto "Be Always Ashamed to Find Thyself Idle"; she was a long time member of the Midland Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mrs. Nash is survived by sons, Joseph (Betty) Windover of Midland, James R. (and special friend Karen Thurmond) Windover of Fairfield, California; daughters, Lois McPherson of Sanford, Martha (Victor) Ferris of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Kimberly (Gary) Wamsley, Scott (special friend Chrissy) Sias, Joey (Stacey) Windover, Wendy (Mark) Dibbet, Wes Windover, Shawn (Kandy) Ferris, Krista (Steve) Vines, Jodi (Josh) Bond, Matthew (Kristy) Wamsley; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Manley Clark of Tacoma, Washington; three special nieces, Bonnie Howard, Betty Beckham and Barbara Benedict. Ruth was predeceased by a son, Thomas L. Windover; sisters, Mae Nash, Beverly Herkner; and her son in law, Lloyd McPherson. Funeral service for Mrs. Nash will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 2, 2012, from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Mr. Norman Moll officiating. Interment will follow in Homer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 1:00 pm until time of service. Memorials may be offered to the Seventh-day Adventist Church or to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Midland. Personal messages of condolence may be offered at www.wilson-miller.com
