Ruth M. Thomas

Ruth M. Thomas, age 85 of Midland died at Brittany Manor on Wednesday, June 29, 2011. The daughter of the late Clarence and Winnie (Wolcott) Hines was born on October 23, 1925 in Midland where she was raised and educated graduating from Midland High School in 1944. On September 27, 1952 she married Neil Thomas and he predeceased her on May 25, 1988. Ruthie had worked for J. C. Penney Co., J. J. Newberry Co and sold Stanley Home Products. She also was a long time crossing guard for the City of Midland. Ruthie attended the Church of God and was active with the ground breaking of the new Meridian Church of God where she taught Sunday school and was active with the Women's Missionary Society. She also attended and enjoyed the Wesley Chapel.

Ruth is survived by her sons: James (Sharon) Thomas of Midland Mark Thomas of Midland and David (Tammy) Thomas of Hemlock; grandchildren Tom Terwilliger, Elijah Terwilliger, Christopher Thomas, James Thomas, Jennifer Thomas and three great grandchildren

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday July 2, 2011 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Reverend James J. Barnhart of the Wesley Chapel officiating. Interment will be in Homer Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3 to 7 and on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service. Memorials may be offered to the Meridian Church of God or to Wesley Chapel.
