Ruth Josephine Bredt

Ruth Josephine Bredt, age 103 of Midland, passed away at Medi Lodge on Sunday March 5, 2023. The daughter of the late John and Vend la (Ahlstrom) Carlson. She was born on Oct. 22, 1919 in Ishpeming, Ml. Ruth graduated from Ishpeming High School and moved to Detroit. She met and married Curt Bredt Jr. on Nov. 19, 1946, he preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1996.

Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading the newspaper, and playing rummy.

Ruth is survived by daughter Ruthita Harris of Texas, son Curt Jon (Peggy) Bredt of Midland. Ruth has five grand-children Brian (Beth) Bredt, Jennifer (Andy) Amata, Isaac (Gaia) Blake, Elizabeth (Chris) James, Bret (Ana) Blake. Ruth has nine great-grand-children Sara, Bella, Briana Bredt, Jackson, Zachary Amala, Myra Blake, Luna, Stella James, Sicily Blake.

In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Blake, son-in-law Thomas Blake and grand-daughter Stacey Harris and sister Evelyn Vago.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday from 1:30pm until the time of service. Private interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be offered to the Salvation Army or your favorite charity.
