Roy E. Burch

Roy E. Burch, age 73 of Midland, died Sunday afternoon December 6, 2009 at MidMichigan Medical Center. The son of the late Roy E. and Marion (Wendt) Burch was born in Midland on June 10, 1936 where he was raised and educated graduating from Midland High School in 1956. Roy was employed with Dow Chemical. He then was employed with the City of Midland for over 25 years starting in May of 1959 then went to the Fire Department in August of 1965 until retiring in 1984 as a Firefighter/ Truck Operator. Roy served in the Michigan National Guard for many years. He was a member of Midland Missionary Church, former member of Midland Moose and Eagles Clubs. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working. On May 21, 1983 in Midland Roy married Virginia Beach.

Surviving are his wife of 26 years Virginia; sons, Rod(Ilene) Burch, Paul (Tammy) Burch all of Midland; daughters, Annamae (Mike) Kissinger of Marshall, Gale (Steve) Kissinger of Shepherd, step daughter, Carleen (Bob) Campbell of Beaverton; 15 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday December 11, 2009 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Pastor Fred Becknell will officiate. Interment will follow in Lee Township Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 8 pm. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to Midland Missionary Church.
