Rose Strelecki

Rose Strelecki (Lanczak) passed away on Saturday April 10, 2021 at the age of 89. Rose was born the youngest of three children to Joseph and Magdalena (Dolecki) Lanczak on September 1, 1931 in Detroit. She was raised in Standish, MI on the family farm and graduated from Standish High School.

Rose married her fiancé Edmund (Ed) Strelecki at St. Florian's Catholic Church in Standish, MI on May 2, 1953.

Rose began a career as a data entry (keypunch) operator in Detroit before moving to Anaheim, CA in 1960. Rose's father Joseph passed away in 1962, and in 1964 Rose and family moved back to Livonia, MI to be closer to her mother. Rose began a 30+ year career in data entry with Ford Motor Company in 1964, mostly working midnight and afternoon shifts so that either her or Ed could be home with the family. Magdalena passed away in 1966. Ed and Rose moved from their Livonia, MI home to their lake house in Sugar Springs full time over 15 years ago.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Ed; parents Joseph and Magdalena; siblings Emily and Edward "Eddie"; son Mark; and many other relatives. She is survived by her son Gary (Kathy Berry), daughter Patricia (Brian Devlin), granddaughter Grace (Matthew Holiday); step grandchildren, Henry, Charles, and Grace Devlin; great-granddaughter Layla Rose; great-grandsons Joshua and Caleb; and many other relatives.

The family wishes to thank the staff with both Mid-Michigan Hospice and Colonial Villa for their wonderful care given to Rose and her family.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 1-3 pm and 6-8pm at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Fr. Rob Howe officiating with visitation starting at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to a local food bank or to an organization of one's choice.
