Ronald K. Smith

Ronald K. Smith, age 66 of Midland, passed away on Friday November 9th, 2018 at his residence. The son of Rosie E. (Fordham) and the late Charley Smith was born in Detroit on May 22, 1952. Ron had been employed with the Detroit Police Department as a forensic chemist for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed being with his family, making jewelry, watching sports and the stock market. He also loved doing Aikido and owned a dojo in Midland for several years. Ron was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Surviving are his daughters, Eyana (Vincent) Carballo, Tia (Modou) Gueye; grandchildren, Vincent, Marlee, Mali, Maye, Awo; mother, Rosie Smith; siblings, Deborah Smith, Cynthia Humes, Arthur Smith, Terri Smith; former spouse, Janis Smith. In addition to his father, Ron was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly McLean.

A celebration of Ron's life will take place 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6th, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Midland with Rev.Lara Freeburg officiating. Family will receive guests at the church from 12 noon until the time of service. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
