Ronald A. Kretz, age 70 of Freeland, died Sunday afternoon, November 8, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his family. The son of the late Anthony and Claradell (Vermillion) Kretz was born on March 12, 1939 in Saginaw. Ron served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. On September 8, 1962 he married the former Sue E. Beebe. Ron had worked for General Motors Buick City in Flint, retiring in 1990 after 24 years of service. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their various ball games, getting together with family and friends, working in his garden and being around his home. Fishing and hunting were great times for him, times to enjoy the pleasure of being with special people and just being in the outdoors.

Surviving is his wife of 47 years Sue; daughters, Becky (Mick) Barber of Midland, Rhonda (Scott) Stoll of Midland; grandchildren, Paige, Carly Barber, Carter, Kyle Stoll; sister, Martha (LaVern) Wilson of Millington; brother, Karl (Debbie) Kretz; brother in law, Jim (Joan) Beebe of Breckenridge; sister in law, Donna Witkop of Sanford; special friends, Janie Kretz, Riva Torres; his faithful dog, Rikki and his cats, Trouble, Sweetie and Nutso. Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Charles and twin brother, Donald; sister, Ruth Ann Wallet; mother and father in law, Clare and Mabel Beebe; brother in law, Martin Witkop.

Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 11, 2009 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Rev. Randall Mead of Mt. Haley Church of God will officiate. Interment will follow in Homer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
