Roberta J. "Bobbi" Stockton, age 78 of Midland, died Monday morning, May 10, 2010 at Colonial Villa. The daughter of the late Homer and Eva (Winters) Farison was born in Midland on June 9, 1931. Bobbie graduated from Coleman High School in 1949. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was active with the Seniors Ambassadors Group. Bobbie was an avid volunteer and prided herself in doing Gods work. On November 12, 1955, in Midland, Bobbie married Wayne V. Stockton. He died on December 23, 2001.
Surviving are her sons, Mark (Dodi) Stockton of Rock Springs, Georgia, Alan (David Weick) Stockton of E. Grand Rapids, Charles (Karen) Stockton of Midland; grandchildren, Mark Stockton, Jr., Sheri (Jesse) Armstrong, Jessica Stockton, Carrie (Delbert) Dean, Heather Bischoff, Cameron (Kevin Appold) Hersey; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister, Colleen "Connie" Wheeler and several nieces and nephews. Bobbie was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Angel Overdorf.
Funeral and committal services will take place at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2010 from Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Murphrey officiating. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Bobbie's family will receive friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 12 noon until the time of service.
