Roberta M. Parks

Roberta M. Parks, age 98 of Clare, passed away on Sunday November 5, 2017 at Prestige Place Assisted Living in Clare. The daughter of the late Floyd and Roberta (Rapp) Rankin was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on January 5, 1919 where she was raised and educated. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Midland. Roberta enjoyed reading her Bible every day, doing crossword puzzles and playing bingo. Her passion was sewing; she loved to sew. On August 22, 1939 Roberta married Wilbur A. Parks and after 71 years of marriage he passed away on March 1, 2010.

Surviving are her children, Carol Parks of Grand Rapids, Jack (Sandra) Parks of Lady Lakes, Florida, Sharon (Steven) Letherer of Farwell; grandchildren, Pam Rolfe, Dawn Parks, Tyler & Adam Gofton, Jeffrey Letherer, Anna Schafer; many great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Roberta was preceded in death by sibling, Thorley Rankin, LaPreal Kelly-Martin, Thelma Smith, Mary Sly, and Dorothy Williamson.
