Robert W. Smith

Robert W. Smith, age 78 of Midland, passed away Monday January 2, 2017 at his residence. The son of the late Kenneth W. and Elva (Larsen) Smith was born in Midland on December 21, 1938. Bob graduated from Midland High School in 1956 and went on to get his Bachelor's Degree from Detroit College of Business. He served in the United States Army. Bob was the former owner of Headquarters & Headquarters Co. in Midland until 2003. He was a member of the American Legion Berryhill Post 165, a USO supporter, a proud military veteran and a Midland Chemic and Ferris Football supporter. Bob was an avid hunter and outdoors man, enjoyed dancing, going to breakfast with his buddies and was a sugar cookie and Easter egg artist. On May 23, 1964 in Sonora, Kentucky Bob married the former Lena L. Priddy. After 37 years of marriage she died on April 14, 2002.

Surviving are his daughters, Lee Ann (John) Caudill of Elizabeth Town, Kentucky, Bobbye (Dan) Thompson of Midland; grandchildren, Hannah Caudill, John Caudill, Amanda Peterson; sister, Mary (Don) Krauss; special friend Joyce Hepinstall. In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by a great grandson, Cooper Caudill.
