Robert L. Stevens

Robert L. Stevens, age 78 of Midland, died Friday morning March 28, 2014 at Brittany Manor. The son of the late Walter R. and Lyla (Howey) Stevens was born in Midland on October 15, 1935. He had been employed with the Dow Chemical Co. in Midland as an operator until retiring in 1997 after 40 years of service. Robert enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, going to casinos and out to Las Vegas. He was involved with the United Steelworkers Union 12075 as a union steward, United Way, was past President and Vice President of the Ernie Wallace Blood Bank and a member of the Moose Club. On July 15, 2000 in Midland Robert married the former Joann M. Waskevich and after 12 years of marriage she died on January 1, 2013.

Surviving are his daughters, Ann (Karl) Kwast of Midland, Suzan (David) Clark of Freeland, Mary (Gerald) Fish of Saginaw; step sons, Robert (Kimberly) Schneider of Midland, Thomas (Jackie) Schneider of Venice, Florida; grandchildren, Kevin Sanford, Joel Hensel, Jacob Schneider, Ella Schneider; great grandchildren, Mackenzie & Jackson Hensel and Hunter Paschall. In addition to his wife and parents Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Stevens and his twin brother, Richard Stevens.

Per Robert's wishes cremation has taken place and gathering time will take place on Friday April 4, 2014 from 4 to 7:00p.m. at the Wilson Miller Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd Midland.
