Robert I. Featherstone, age 85 of Midland, passed away on Tuesday January 10, 2017 at MidMichigan Medical Center, Midland. The son of the late Irvin and Ida (Hughes) Featherstone was born on November 18, 1931. On April 10, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois he married the love of his life and best friend, Nancy L. Neubauer. They lived in many different places until their retirement in 1994. They retired in Sun City West Arizona until moving to Midland in 2006 to be closer to their grandchildren. Nancy died on November 23, 2015. The past two years, his grandson, P Six, has made him laugh and has brought so much enjoyment to him. Whenever he was with P Six he talked about it for days.
Surviving are his daughters, Pamela (Douglas) Gandy, Lynne (Charles) Rutledge all of Midland, Laura (John) De Pablos of La Crescenta, California; grandchildren, Patrick Beaubien, Lyndsey (Stephen) Stothers, Renee (Justin) Weckesser, Sabrina Gandy, Heather (Peter) Makar, Robert (Ashley) Rutledge, Jonathan Rutledge, John Luke De Pablos, Benjamin Holden De Pablos, Cassie De Pablos; great grandchildren, Peter & Emma Grace; brother, Jerry (Gaye) Featherstone; sister, Nancy (Gordon) Nielson; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Richard. Bob's daughters would like to specially thank Ellie Morse for being with them at the time of their father's passing.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 17, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Fr. Kevin Maksym officiating. Family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be offered to Blessed Sacrament Church.
