Robert Erwin Miller, age 98, passed away on November 20, 2025, in Midland, Michigan. Born on April 18, 1927, in Omer, Michigan, to the late Aaron Miller and Violet Jones. He led a life marked by compassion, bravery, and entrepreneurial spirit.
His legacy continues through his son, David (Mary) Miller, and his grandchildren Tonya Jo, Joshua, Mary, Melissa, Mark, Matt, Ryan, David, and Michelle, along with many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will cherish his memory. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his daughters, Carol Jankowski and Karen Wilber; his brothers, Morrison and Alvin; as well as his sisters, Aletha, Mary, and Alma.
Robert began serving in the National Guard during the Detroit Riots in 1943. Then he went on to serve in the United States Army during World War II and was a proud survivor of the Battle of the Bulge, showcasing his commitment to duty and country.
After his military service, Robert founded City Sewer Cleaners, where he worked until his retirement in 1990 as an owner/operator. His business acumen and dedication to his work left a lasting impact on the community.
Robert's passions were as daring as his personality. He was an avid racecar driver and motorcycle enthusiast. His beloved dog, Joey, was his constant companion, accompanying him on many adventures. Robert’s charismatic and charming nature made him a friend to many.
A private burial will be taking place at the Woodmere Cemetery in Standish. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
